Foundation Private Forest Centre, Rural Economy Research Centre and Estonian Private Forest Union organize an international conference about the increasing role of wood in the energy management on 12th - 14th Septmeber 2012.

The Conference "Food for energy" helps to analyze how cost-effective is the usage of wood for energy production, what are the benefits of using wood energy for local community, and what are the opportunities for private forest owners. During the Conference will be discussed about the resource sufficiency of Estonian forestry and what kind of support measures would contribute on the better usage of wood. In addition to the presentations about developments in Estonian Wood energy sector participants will receive information about the new practices from Europe.

Participants: Private forest owners, private forest owners’ cooperatives, forestry officers and experts, scientists, policy-makers, representatives of local governments

Before the conference, three different international forestry working-group seminars will take place on the 12th September afternoon and 13th September morning, and a study-trip on the afternoon of 13th September:

  • 12th to 13th Septmeber - WoodEnergy working-group - INTERREG IVA project „Wood Energy & Cleantech
  • 13th September - WETNet working-group (Wood Energy Training Network)

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

The official working language of seminars is English. The study-trip offers the opportunity for consecutive translation from Estonian to English and 14th September Conference will have simultaneous translation from Estonian to English and from English to Estonian.

Transfers from Tallinn Aiport and Port of Tallinn to Jäneda and back are organised.

Participation in the conference and study tour is free of charge. Participants has to cover the costs of accommodation in Jäneda Guesthouse (www.janedaturism.ee/index.php). There is special price for working group and conference participants that includes breakfest, buffee dinner and using of sauna. Booking an accommodation through email info@janedaturism.ee. 

Accommodation prices:

  • Single room:
    • Express room (WC and shower for two rooms) 47.50 euros per night for one person
    • Standard room (WC and shower for room) 52.50 euros per night for one person
  • Double room:
