| Backround of the project: |
Triinu is a young and active lady who lives in Hiiuma island, in Kassari. She started acting as a self-employed entrepreneur already in 2003 as a swimming instructor, but she started to produce the apple juice in 2009.
The idea to produce the apple juice arose from her family, because her father has a really big apple garden and Triinu started to think of the output for the apples. While the ecological apples production outputs a big amount of juice then they purchased the moving squeezer with RDP measure 3.1 (Investments support for diversification of economical activities in rural areas) which helped to offer the fruit press service. Triinu offers the service since the beginning of Autumn till there are people who want to buy the service (till there are apples). She will deliver the device through Estonia where there is the need for it.
But they needed to purchase the pasteurizing device to start the producing process with full blast, so that the juice would find its way to the markets. |

To improve the juice producing process by purchasing pasteurizing device in addition to the existing squeezer. |

| Output and results indicators: |
The pasteurizing device improved the quality of producing, allowed to start the marketing by marketing chains and raising the competitiveness at the same time. They could bottle the juice due to pasteurizing device and for today customers can buy Triinu's ecological apple juice from 70 different selling points from all over the Estonia. The apple juice produced in Kassari, is an ecological an local product of Hiiuma island. It creates new employments and increases the fame of the island. |
| Experiences/lessons learned: |
They are planning to produce different kind of juices in future.
The lesson learnt: You'll have to know how to fend yourself! Because of the wrong measure code on the application form, the entrepreneur made a really big effort to get the positive answer.
Triinu also thinks that such supports are acting like a really big motivator for young people. |
