| Backround of the project: |
House of services (Avinurme Hostel) 2 Leader projects were raised from the need to complete one innovative and active initiative by local small-entrepreneur to offer services in the local area.
Avinurme that is situated on the border of Ida-Viru, Lääne-Viru and Jõgeva county, didn't have any information point that would present the area and where some information could be found about Avinurme's municipality, area of Peipsi-Alutaguse Chamber of Cooperation and sights in Ida-Virumaa county. Also tourists don't have enough places to accomodate.
Avinurme's service-, training- and accommodation house and rooms for hostel, info- and training rooms were established in the autumn 2009 with the support of measure 3.1. |
| Objectives of the project: |
The aim of the investment is to develop tourism in the area of Peipsi-Alutaguse through creating new training-, information- and accommodation places. |
| Main activities: |
First stage (activities of project in 2009):
Establishing a service-, training- and accommodation house in Avinurme on Summer 2011: insulating the building by renovating 25 windows; establishing new driveway and slade; furnishing the hostel of 16 rooms on the second floor with furniture, devices and inventar; establishing internet point with information room and classroom on the first floor. The hostel includes three accommodation rooms: youth room of 8 beds, ecological room with kitchen of 4 beds and a family room. |
| Output and results indicators: |
Project was the final point of establishing the service house of small-entrepreneur, increasing the range on services and creating a new quality for them. The new services are: accommodation, rooms for seminar, services of information room, equipment for spending your free time. Also a new employment was established. The renovation of the house by using wood that is really typical for Avinurme and with the help of local skillful men. |
| Experiences/lessons learned: |
The project is a really good example of that when there is a good vision and go-ahead spirit then an old hous in the middle of the settlement can develop into classy, rural-like and cosy house to offer different rural services. The house of the services has found it's niche among local and further visitors, established web-page gives an good overview and creates good presumptions for using the house in the future also. |
