The LEADER Transnational Cooperation Awards collected 60 applications from participating countries.

The first selection of the nominated Nordic-Baltic Leader transnational cooperation projects is now done!

The finalists of the five categories were chosen out of 60 nominees in Roskilde, Denmark on the 6th June 2013. The evaluation committee included the representatives of Estonia, Lithuanian, Latvia, Swedish, Finnish and Danish rural networks.

  YOUTH - My Fell Lapland
  Project activities include joint camps, writing and telling stories and production of short films. The project will be carried out with international partners by producing short films based on material from the writing contest which is to be organized in the autumn 2012. The development work will bring out the cultural heritage of rural areas and strengthen the identity of local young people. When young people can share experiences, it strengthens their communality, involvement and sociability. This supports their growth into active citizens who are interested in themselves,environment and society. Cooperation partner countries are France and Italy. Read more about the project HERE

YOUTH - Youth for Youth
  The TNC project “Youth for Youth” is targeted to young people, ages 18-30 years old, from Baltic countries, who coming from rural areas or villages and most of them studying in the city. During the project will be organized three creative camps for young people in Latvia (Cesis), Lithuania (Ukmerge), Estonia (Põlvamaa) and final event (conference) in Lithuania. The main project idea is to encourage rural youth occupation and active expression capabilities and to show the rural cultural, economical and nature values of rural life. The length of the camp is a week and the number of participants in one camp is about 60. Read more about the project HERE

YOUTH - Wind for Youth
  Wind for Youth 12 is a large scale youth and culture project between two partners, Ino ry from LAG Aktiivinen’s area (Finland) and Jung St Marien –band form LAG LinzLands area – from Austria.
The project makes possible the educational exchange on European music education, exchange of orchestras,cultural studies, international education for youngsters and developing of cultural tourism on music-thematics. One of the main thematics is to keep youngsters together and maintain the orchestras function up to be the adult composed orchestras as nowadays in rural areas the youngsters tend to move away and all the orchestra work will be lost in the area. YOUTH - The Planet Said to Me
                              In each partner region was selected a group of 8-10 young people. The group examined environmental issues related to a common theme in their own region. The group produced an output of the theme and brought it forward to other young people in their own region media in a media they themselves selected. Once a year groups from all the partner regions gathered for an action-week in each region by turns. During the week participants worked together in workshops, explored the selected environmental theme in that region and presented their pre produced outputs to other groups. During the project young people from different countries can share their views on environment and get new perspective and tools to share environmental knowledge. Read more about the project HERE

Summary: International youth project - Learning by Doing aims to increase attractiveness of entrepreneurship, natural product industry and tourism with the help of international activities. The partners of the project are from Finland, Poland and Russia. Project is targeted for the young people between 15-29 years. Project contains local level actions (in Finland) like visits events and meetings as well as networking trough social media. International activities includes different exchanges as well as using social media as a tool of cooperation. Later on Learning by Doing project joined ROOTS project and similar activities are implemented with different partners.
