| Backround of the project: | NGO Skriim was founded in 2009 with an aim to offer alternative activities, experiences in media sphere, to encourage them to express their opinion, to make them to pay their attention to journalism-ethics and to involve young people to participate in social life development more actively. The project was necessary to involve youth of Rapla county in communal decisions process and realizing them and to raise the competitiveness of young people. |
| Objectives of the project: | The aim of the project was to publish a youth newspaper that would involve youth from the first to the final part of making a newspaper. |
| Main activities: | They planned visiting different youth events and publishing their activities in youth newspaper to realize the project. So that the project would actually work the organizers needed to encourage young people to make co-work, to express their feelings about local problems and to make some proposals. So that young people would dare and want to express their opinions, they needed to direct and guide young people who are graduating primary school. When young people can participate on decision-making process of the newspaper they don't want to leave Rapla county or at least they want to return to their home-place after graduating higher education schools. Young editorial board has face-to-face meetings couple of times in month, many faced problems were discussed by using Internet. This gave an opportunity for all the young people to participate on the project from any areas of the county. |
| Output and results indicators: | As the result of the youth activity they published a four-paged newspaper Skriim. Project included publishing of eight four-paged youth newspaper SKRIIM, presenting the project in county's five schools, participating on different youth events on the period of project realization. The project helped to involve youth into community life more, it widened the horizon of newspaper makers in many life spheres, gave some courage for self-expression and performing. The project developed the team-work skill and increased the communion of newspaper compilers. When the youth newspaper was mostly related and compiled by youth of Rapla town then after realization of the project youth from different parts of county are involved into newspaper compilation. |
