While many regions have started implementing this topic by employing new co-ordinators, then Lääne-Viru Rural Women Society gathered together people who have participated in different can-food fairs in Lääne-Viru, in Paste Village Party, in Olustvere Jam Fair. They also included other people who are looking or creating a job, and who have a wish and a will to develop their knowledge about local food.
Objectives of the project: One aim of the project is to create new jobs and to be a support organisation for new entrepreneurs - offering their help for developing the products, for labelling, for filling in necessary documents need for setting up and acknowledging home kitchen status.
Main activities: At first they organized 3 study-trips to see the current state of market, products and opportunities. Then they organized study-days, consulted with Veterinary and Food Board members, shared experiences and thoughts on developing new products. The project resulted into creation of 46 products made of local raw material which will be marketed in Tallinn Sadamaturg, Tartu Farmers Market, and in different fairs.

They developed a special label called "Kodupoolis" ("HomeMade") for marketing local food of Lääne-Viru county.
Output and results indicators: The project helped to gather together people interested in cooking, and who like to do it at home, following all of our rules and conditions.

Project results:
1. More active product marketing in local food sphere;
2. Creating new jobs based on home kitchen;
3. Establishing criterion and legislation;
4. Developing special label "Kodupolis" for Lääne-Viru county;
5. Starting more active co-operation with South-Estonia;
6. Creating good base for common marketing;
7. Broadening the mind;
8. Recollecting memories from up to 80 years ago - about eating culture, products and cooking;

The project helped to activate the development of local food products. The words grew into real actions. New interest groups were established between farmers and producers. Also the marketing opportunities are now more wider. The group of people who initially participated at the training, are now acting as a foundation group, whose members are sharing their knowledge, involving and encouraging others to do something out of nothing in their own home. The training helped to find unique and special products. They also found new co-operation partners from South-Estonia. New products developed from forgotten or unavailing products.
Experiences/lessons learned: If there is enough will, it is possible to make a new job out of home kitchen.
