Backround of the project: Young, green-thinking father took his family and moved to country side to start their own enterprise - to rent an old barn, to create new jobs, and to produce biohumus out of manure with the help of bred dew-worms.

In future it is planned to utilize and compost animal- and food processing waste products, sediments from disposal plant, and hogged wood-room refuse. Based on the innovativeness of technologies and products, producers' growing interest towards ecological agriculture, and fulfillment of internal market conditions, it is planned to expand the export to Russia and other countries.
Objectives of the project: The aim of the project is to start producing bio-compost in an old barn by using dew-worms, packaging it and selling it in flower stores, gardening centres and -farms, and in forest school.
Main activities: Renovating an old barn to start producing bio-humus. Growing the dew-worms. Packaging the produced bio-compost. Developing cooperation relationship with flower stores, gardening centres and -farms, and forest schools to sell the production. The next aim is to reach ecological producers.
Output and results indicators: The results of the project:
- an old agricultural building has find a new output;
- new jobs in rural areas;
- the local waste products (mainly manure) have find an output;
- usage of new technologies and skills for ecological producing;
- the project enables to learn new field (vermian compost) and using its' products, proving that good results could be reached even without using chemicals, but only local raw material.
Experiences/lessons learned: If the project could impact other producers to reorganize their production towards more ecological production methods - then it would be a win-win situation - the soil quality rates would increase, the products would be tastier, better looking, and the expire date would be longer. People and animals health would be better and it will impact the local life in various positive ways.
