| Backround of the project: | Most of the year the main activities are grain farming, and selling it to bigger buyers and local farmers. An important extra income source is selling grain sieves, and repairing sorters of Estonian farmers. In addition to that they are offering a sorting service of grain and other crops. |
| Objectives of the project: | The investment helps to improve the technology of grain farming (increasing working efficiency, because old machines use more power). They also cut back on costs of buying devices (fuel, equipment for repairs). |
| Main activities: | Buying a tractor for Maidla Sillaotsa farm to benefit more on existing grain farming technology. |
| Output and results indicators: | This investment was a follow-up for the investment made by SAPARD programme (dryer complex) in grain farming. On technical level the investment helped to fasten up the farming activities (especially while having bad weather conditions). The quality of activities was raised, so as the quality of final products and income. Thanks to the investment the productivity numbers have increased, and the costs have decreased, especially the costs for energetic resources. There is also a smaller bear of risk because all the work can be done at optimum time and fast. The quality of work and working habits has improved which have impacted other agricultural producers in the area. |
| Experiences/lessons learned: | Despite the problems in agricultural business, the producer thinks positively and is active also in all over the area (Saue municipality, Maidla village), and plays an important role in local agriculture. |
