| Backround of the project: | UMA MEKK is a jointly developed project by Võru county government, Võrumaa Partnership Assembly and Võru county entrepreneurs. Its aim is to gather together small producers of food and to develop an environment for them, to exchange experiences, acknowledge and contact and to market commonly Võru food productions. This project keywords are: Mari-Moos-Magustoit (Berry-Jam-Dessert) which means that this network should contain growing raw material, processing and marketing it. Project was started from South-Estonian Food Network. |
| Objectives of the project: | To develop an environment for local small entrepreneurs, to exchange experiences, acknowledge and to guide them to start cooperating and working commonly. |
| Main activities: | Supporting project - in November, 2009 organizing seminar and working groups (working groups on subjects like herb gourmet; making bread; "What to do with a sheep", possibilities of use of ecological food in catering); actions to disseminate information about trademark UMA MEKK - which also includes Media; publishing an information-sheet that would acquaint Võru county food producers; Subscribing a research that would chart small producers of food from Võru county and the district of Võru county 2010 - 2011: elaborating and implementing brand "Own Taste" |
| Experiences/lessons learned: | In 2010. there was presented a new project to Võru Partnership Assembly, which includes following actions: -collecting receipts; -learning days; -participating in 8 fairs + in Uma Pido; -organizing a BIG FAIR in autumn, 2010. |
